The last few months have been in experimenting. New hops, yeast, malts, water chemistry and even a brand new recipe. So been busy, and had quite a lot of fun. may even have learned a thing or two. Al, the time with lots of beer.
The latest was to create a new beer. it has been done before, but not around here (at least what I can see)
Right now its happily fermenting, and the first dose of dry hops has been added, so far so good.
My previous batch was an English bitter of my own design. Did so much research that I almost felt like a true expat. (technically I am one) and that has a week of maturing to go. Based on a 1970´s ale, with a twist to it, so looking forward to that.
Brewed with whole hop cones, and made myself some experiences. Cones in your mash for bittering works, Dry hopping with cones is a pain. tried them with hop bags, and cones float pretty good, so the aroma could have been better.
But its live and learn, and still very drinkable, so RDWHAHB applies
Latest label is very cool:
